Near the bounds of the three counties there is a field called "Keel". It was supposed to be the burying ground for the people who died in Black '47. It is not known why the field is called the "Keel" but it may be presumed that an ancient church stood there long ago and its out-line can still be faintly seen. One of the most noted persons buried there was Tadg na "Croicne" supposed to have died in Knockulcare during the famine and whose grave can still be plainly seen.
