  1. In the land of Edmond Leahy there is an altar. Mass used to be celebrated there during the Penal Laws when the English were persecuting the catholics in Ireland. Priests were hunted out of the church and they had to say mass in the glens. The altar is in the heart of the glen so that it could not be seen by the invaders. It is now covered with bushes and briars.
