- Funny Stories.9. There is a man in this town named Tade Scanlan. One night Tade Scanlan was coming from the fair of Croom, and was a very dark night. Then Tade was afraid that he might meed a guard and he thought of a plan. The plan is that he tied the donkey to the back of the car and he pulled the car himself from the crossroads in. Rathkeale. - Funny Stories.In a country town a party of young men used to meet every night. One of them used to go home through a grave-yard every night, and the other men asked him why he was not afraid to go through the grave-yard at night, for fear the spirits would get him. "Yerra no", says he, "I go through the grave-yard every night, and I never saw any spirits".
