those who shot Murphy. They were Madigan, Lynch and Luis.
They were going home one night and they called to Moore's in Ballinagoole to see a friend. Moore was a Protestant, supposed to have been a paid informer. He saw three men around his place that night. It was heard that Murphy was shot. He gave information that Madigan, Lynch and Luis were around his place. They were condemned to die on the scaffold at Cappagh hill on its highest point.
