- Lios na-muc in the district of
Shountrade.There is a fort about two miles to the west of Shountrade school. The name of it is Lios-na muc, which means the fort of the pigs.There is another fort situated in Lord Dunraven's Deer Park. The three rings of earth are still to be seen which were used to guard the Chiefs who lived there. One ring of earth is perfect. The second ring is broken and the remainder of the third is still to be seen.There is another situated north west of Shountrade school about one mile. There is only one ring to be seen.
