    boy gets the button it is a sign that he will be a bachelor.
    After tea it is a custom to eat nuts and apples and to play certain games which are only played on Hallow eve night, for example -
    A basin of water is put in the middle of the floor and an apple or money is put down in the bottom of the basin, then each person must put his hands behind his back and try and catch the apple or money in his mouth without touching it with his hands. If he succeeds he has permission to keep whatever he secures.
    Another game is - a long piece of string is hung from the ceiling and at the end of the string there is put a piece of stick pointed at each end, at one end an apple is put and at the other end a piece of soap, then it is put spinning and each person present has his or her turn to catch the apple in his mouth while it is spinning and the person who succeeds in getting the apple has permission to eat it. This game causes great fun because sometimes a person
