- (continued from previous page)from Croom. They were crying. He overheard them and asked what was the matter. The poor woman pointing to her own and her children's bare feet, said they were crying with the cold and hunger. He promptly ordered her to go back to Collopy, a shoemaker in the street (Margin Note: Collopy was a builder and not a shoemaker D. O'C.) and gave her a written order to him for a pair of boots for herself and for each of her children.
