water font long ago in a chapel which is said to have been up in Mr Malachy Grogan's field. This field is still called the Coill (Cill) field.
There are six holes in the stone and there is water in them all the year round. It is said that if we have warts or any other sores on our hands and if we wash them in the water in the stone we will get cured.
Long ago when people passed this stone they used to bless themselves with the water. That is not done now.
There were a lot of houses around the chapel long ago and that part of Gurtavoher was called Faggot Street.
