For years afterwards several people went to visit the well every Sunday after Mass to give some time praying. The 15th August was the fixed day for visiting it. When the people went there they usually brought bottles of water away with them.
Many people were cured there in the olden times of sore eyes and other diseases.
This well would be now a shrine for Pilgrims if the farmer on whose land it is situated was not so exact in his rights as a tenant under the Land Purchase Act.
