  1. (continued from previous page)
    (I)
"William 'tis time to look to you now
Give you the farm the house and the cow
Mary the fortune and Robin the sow
Before the daylight in the morning"

(Billy Landers and a neighbouring woman called Byrne had a wrangle about a piece of land but Billy got the land after her death.)
    (II)
"I wish I never minded an acre of land
To sit in my stool with my awl in my hand
    I have nothing to show
    But an old empty purse
I thought to rob Joan to make the case worse
Before the daylight in the morning.

He also wrote a verse on Ed. Forde when he married a Byrne woman from Curraghkillran. He was sweet on the daughter but being a cute boy he married the mother who was a widow and so got her place.
