- The following was given by Mr Michael Carew about 70 years ago, a farmer Croughafoil.
Once upon a time there lived in Foilaclear a man named Thomas Ryan. He was coming from the village of Kilcommon late at night. When he was passing the quarry at Barna Dub he met a funeral. He stood by the side of ditch to let the funeral pass.
It was a very big funeral. He thought at first that it was a "live" funeral. It was a horse hearse. After a while he was surprised to see a lot of the people in the funeral that were dead long ago.- Informant
