  2. It is said that when Our Lord was crowned with thorns a robin came and pulled a thorn out of his head to carry to her nest, so as to build it. As she was taking the thorn a drop of the sacred blood tipped her breast and ever afterwards a robin had a red breast. That is why the robin is liked so well.
