    kind of dough clay and water and shaped as desired. It was then baked in a hot oven. It was not a fine or delicate material but is served its purpose well.
    Barrel-making:-
    Barrel's were made by hew [?] the inside out of a block of wood and also by putting hoop round staves of wood.
    Fire Cranes:-
    The cranes of long in count houses were made of straight bars of iron stretching down the chimney with about twenty holes in it.
    Whips:
    Whips were made of slit leathe [?] attached to a piece of Ash plant.
