- Toothache;
Was cured long ago by putting a drop of whiskey or brandy in your tooth.
Another remedy was to get a skin of fish and rub a bit of lard on it, hold it till the lard is melted into the tooth. Long ago a frog was put into your mouth alive this was considered a good remedy.
Thrush;
Long ago goose grease was used to cure thrush, but tallow was considered better.
