2. It was also cured by mixing goose droppings and stout together and drinking the mixture

These were cured by steeping an ivy leaf in vinegar and applying it to the corn.
Peggy Halpin 11.11.1937 - Sore Eyes
There were cured by getting a plant called robin-run-the-hedge. This was boiled in water and the person washed their eyes in the liquid. This is how sore eyes were cured.
