- (continued from previous page)An Old StoryOnce there was a king who ruled over a great number of people. A fierce dragoon lived in the hills near by.It was agreed that one boy should be given to him to eat every month otherwise he would kill all the inhabitants. The agreement held on and a boy was given each month until at last the kings son was to be given up.The king offered a large pot of gold to anyone who would go to save the boy's life. This offer was accepted by a soldier in his army. The day was fixed when the boy was to be delivered up. On the morning of the fixture the soldier went up the hill to meet the dragon.The remains of a monastery stood near the top. On his way up he stumbled and fell heavily(continues on next page)
