Then in his anger as the story says, he opened his mouth and took from the mountain a huge bit, and drove his goats before him through the gap he thus made. So great was his temper he never let go the bit until he came to Mid-Tipperary and there he deposited it where the town of Cashel now stands, giving in one day a name to a mountain and two landmarks to Tipperary for all time.Legend tells us it was to this mountain Finn was brought as a child to be reared by his foster mother, when his life was in danger from his enemies.
There is a little graveyard on the south side of the mountain which people say is the oldest graveyard in Tipperary. There is hardly ever a burial there now but when there is, a light is seen shining there during the three previous(continues on next page)
