- The old people had many cures or reputed cures for various diseases. These are supposed to have being mainly got from the clergy of long ago who were often healers of the body as well as the soul.
A good massage with goose grease is reputed to cure sprains. Mr. Wm Byrnes of Glenaguile has a well known wash for all kinds of cuts and bruises. It is made from seven ingredients chiefly herbs but the ingredients and their make up is a secret. It is widely used in this part of the country and proves very effective. No cut with which it is treated ever gets sceptic.
