- Dandelion which is a herb that grows wild was considered a perfect cure for the disease called "Jaundice" long ago. It was freshly picked and cleaned and boiled in new milk fo a couple of hours before it was ready for use. It was then strained and cooled and the patient was supposed to take it three times each day for a month before being cured.
Another herb which also grows wild is "Marsh Mallows". This was a very popular cure for rash or any skin disease. It was chopped up very finely and mixed with hog's lard. It was then made into a plaster which was applied to the rash or sores. This was supposed to effect the cure within nine or ten days.
An herb that grows very plentifully is the dock-leaf. This was used for curing insect bites or stings of nettles. It was freshly pulled and the juice was bruised out on the sting or bite. After about five(continues on next page)- Collector
