- Glenculloo is the name of my home-district. It is situated in a very picturesque glen among the hills in the parish of Ballinahinch. There are about twenth-two families in this district. There are approximately seventy people living in this district at present.
A part of the glen is occupied by Cliffords. This we call Cliffordstown. There is another part of the same glen called Ballinouse and is occupied entirely by Ryans. Most of the houses in this district are thatched ones. There are two people over seventy in the district namely Pat O'Brien Glenculloo, Killoscully, Newport, Co Tipp and Mrs Clifford Ruadh Lackabrack, Killoscully, Newport, Co Tipp. They do not know Irish but they can tell stories in English.
Houses were more numerous in former times. Three houses are now in ruins in the district.(continues on next page)- Collector
