- (continued from previous page)Another story tells of a farmer who tried to till a field in which there was a liss. When the horses drawing the plough came to the liss they stopped suddenly and refused to draw the plough. He came a second time with the harrow and the horses again refused to move.
People do not care to interfere with the forts as they are superstitious concerning them; they believe that anyone who cuts a tree or bush on the fort will have to sleep on a bed of thorns at night.- Collector
