    IV
    We came along together
Till we came to the bright spring well
It was there that we sat together,
    Until the night it fell.
How dark it was the vision
    That grew around us two.
May the daylight shine for ever,
    On you Mary from Murroe.

    V
    We came along together
Till we came to Barrington's gates.
Go home go home dear Mary,
    Don't be the least afraid.
    For I will try forever,
    Your footsteps to pursue.
And in spite of fame I'll coem again,
    To court you at Murroe.
    VI
If I had all the gold and silver
    Great Damor had of yore
    Or all the earthly treasures,
    That lie in Lackamore.
    I'd forfeit all their money,
For my Mary kind and true.
And I hope one night I'll sit by your side,
In that thatched house near Murroe.
