- Paddy O’Dwyer who lived in Cummergar, Kilcommon, Thurles about twelve years ago, was a cooper. He used make firkins, tubs and barrels. He used take his ass and car to Limerick for timber. It was wooden hoops he used put on them. The people used come to the house to buy them. They gave 2/- each for them. Any of his sons never learned the trade.
