- The name of my home district is Glenbreeda. It is in the parish of Borrisoleigh. There are thirteen families and sixty one people in the townland. Hogan is the most comon name; the houses are thatched and slated. There are old people living there, they can tell English stories. Houses were more numerous in former times and people went to America in former years. There is a very old rhyme relating to Glenbreeda:-
"Sweet Glenbreeda, St Bridget's glen,
Where there was never a rogue or a robber's den,
Where peace and plenty always smile,
Beneath the hills of Glenaguile".- Collector
