When swans and cranes are seen flying around it is a sign of bad weather. The plovers and sea-gulls when seen flying inland are a sign of bad weather.
- There are three woods in the townland of Kilvilcorris, parish of Drom, Co. Tipperary, where rooks build their nests. It is larch trees grow there. These woods are owned by James Fogarty, townland of Kilvilcorris, parish of Drom, Co. Tipperary.
When the swallows come to this district in spring they look for the old nest. If it is broken they will build another one, but if it is not badly broken they will repair it.
