The churchyard in Killinan is fairly level and square in shape. Ruins of a church are still to be seen. It was a church called after St. Joseph. People are buried within the ruin.
St Mary's is on the east of the town. There is a Protestant Church in the graveyard. A soldier named McKay killed in the battle of Lougtagalla (1174) is buried there.
There is an underground passage from the side of the church to the NorthWest.
It is round in shape + placed or the top of a hill. It is higher than the fields around.- Collector
