  1. Marriage Customs have changed very often in this country of late years. In this parish it is not in the recollection of the oldest inhabitant to see marriages celebrated in the houses. All marriages for the past sixty years or more have taken place in the church. The father of the girl usually visits the father of the boy, to make the match, as they say. Some friends on both sides are invited and after much social talk and some glasses of whiskey thrown in beetween the match is introduced. If terms are
