- Care of Feet
In former times children used not wear boots until they were about twelve or fourteen years. In this district there are no account of people who never wore boots. Children generally go barefooted during the Summer months, but not all the year round.
There is nothing done specially with water after washing it being always thrown out. Boots are made and repaired by the shoemakers. There are three shoemakers in this parish. This has been a tradition in the families of the Heanys and Murphys for generations.
