  1. A white turnip, when rubbed to the effected parts cures swelling.
    Put a hole in a red turnip and put sugar in it. Drink the juice, which is left in the hole and it will cure a cough.
    Throw a child with measles under a grew horse to cure it.
    Swallow a pinch of salt to cure hiccoughs.
    Put as many pebbles in a bag as you have warts on your hand and throw the bag at a crossroads. The first person to pick up the bag will get your warts.
    Raw onions are good for chillblains.
    Red pepper rolled in a piece of wool and put into the ear is good for an earache.
