Now Billy + Judy had a great time for the next seven years. They were very happy and Judy gave up nagging Billy.
They never felt the time passing until the seven years were up.
At the end of the time Ould Nick again appeared.
"Well Billy the time is up and I have come for you" said he.
"Very well Nick" said Billy "I'll go with you immediately".
When he had bade good bye to Judy Billy and Ould Nick set off.
In going along the road they had to pass by the public house.
"Begor Nick" said Billy "I'd like a drink".
"Well go in and get it" said the devil.
"I haven't any money" said Billy.
"I haven't either" said the devil.
"Oh but" said Billy "You can turn yourself into money. Change yourself into a sovereign and I'll go in for a drink".
The devil changed himself into a Sovereign and Billy put it in his purse and set out for the forge. When he reached the forge he placed the purse on the anvil seized the hammer and began striking it.
