- The Infant Jesus, the Blessed Virgin and Saint Joseph were going along the road one day. The Blessed Virgin lost the pin of her cloak. The came to a cowherd and asked for a thorn. He said he was too busy to get one. They went on till they came to a forge and asked for a pin. The Blacksmith took out a coin and made a brooch out of it and cooled it in the trough or forge water before giving it to our Blessed Lady. That is why there is a cure in forge water.
