Long ago when the people were sowing potatoes there was a custom that when a person was setting potatoes the women of the house would shake the holy water on the potatoes so as they would have a good crop and also they would put lime on the sciolans to keep away all the maggots from the potatoes also some people would put ashes in it also to keep the ground dry and then the potatoes would grow good.
