- (continued from previous page)their journey downwards and when they reached the bottom they saw a long tunnel which continued its course for about one hundred yards. They determined to follow it as far as it would go and so they did. When they reached their destination they saw a door. They opened it and inside it was a room which was full of gold. They were delighted and they filled their bags and pockets to such an extent that they lost some of it coming out the door. They hastened quickly to the bottom of the stairs but as they were approaching it a wicked man followed them. At first they were not afraid of him but when he began to attack them they got courage and attacked him too. After a fierce struggle at the bottom of the stairs they floored him. They left him in that condition and continued their journey to the top of the stairs. Just as they were at the top a bunch of wild cats attacked them and clawed them(continues on next page)
