    called the boy to hang the kettle and not to go out at all. During the day the farmer asked him did he hear anything last night. He said he heard some noise but he did not mind. The farmer did not sleep a wink all night with terror for he thought the house was haunted. The boy said to him. "Did there anyone die in the house for he heard he was very bad and cruel. The farmer said his father and mother died. "You treated them badly " said the boy. The farmer trembled and looked wildly about the house. He ordered the dinner of meat and cabbage and potatoes. He told the boy to remain inside. The next night the same thing occurred. For about a month or so the same noise was heard every
