- Val Ryan Chadville was local landlord over Ballykiveen & Drumwood.
As a landlord he was above the ordinary but still he evicted one family - Franklin in Ballykiveen.
The landlord's home at Chadville was entered and shots fired at him.
The landlord closed with his assailant and disarmed him. A member of the Franklin family was arrested and charged with the crime. He was however acquitted.
In the song on "Castletown Evictions" mention is made of "Bradell". He was agent for the Landlord in th Castletown district, Doon. The famous "Mick Hayes" was a rent warner and Bradell's right hand man. Some land-grabbers oftern for a few pounds, got Hayes to use his influence with Bradell to have others(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
