  1. During the Land War the Plan of Campaign started in Tipperary town, when the tenants refused to pay Lord Barrymore, the rent.
    It was a trying time; there were baton charges by the police, and people were injured and hundreds were imprisoned.
    There were evictions, and the Battering Ram was brought to demolish the houses.
    There were many tenants who left their homes, and would not pay the rent.
    During the Campaign, William O’Brien M.P.
    started to build “New Tipperary” for the people who were evicted from their homes. People came from
