    V
God's speed to the past, I must now modernise.
There's the good Canon Power I have seen with my eyes
Will raise a new Church in Emly in God's Sacred name
To rekindle the smouldering of antiquity's flame.
    VI
Its fine marble altars will be unsurpassed
Still hard is the labour this new Church will cost
Yet 'twill tell to each heart when its loud tocsan [sic] tolls
How the sweet bells of heaven will ring in our souls.
    VII
I'll remember old Emly wherever I go
For it raises its head where once reigned our foe:
"Yea" the faith of St Ailbe retained its old style
Despite heretic snare and satanical wile.
    VIII
I'm proud of old Emly, and its fine Classic lore,
Of its bishops and pastors I need say no more:
That God's choicest blessings in plenty may shower,
On the people of Emly and the good Canon Power.
