When a girl gets a piece of wedding cake she puts nine new hairpins in a circle about it and she puts it under her pillow and sleeps on it, and she is supposed to call out the name of the man she is going to marry before morning. It is a custom for the people to dress a may tree on May Eve in honour of the Blessed Virgin. When people go into a house they always say "God bless all here." When people kill a pig they generally give some of the meat to their neighbours.(continues on next page)
