have. It is made much oftener in summer time when people have a lot of milk. Sometimes if a person came in they would help at the making of the butter. The churning lasts for about half an hour. There is water used in the making of butter. When the butter is made it is lifted out on a plate and put into a cool of water to be washes. When the butter is taken out the milk that remains in the churn is called buttermilk. It is taken by means of a tap and some people make bread with it and others give it to pigs.
