    into his bed and went in at the back of him. Sure enough, when he was there awhile the "dead" man began to move. "Now I shall kill you" he said. "Is that your thanks" for if it is, in you shall go to your coffin again" Then he grappled with him and put him into the coffin and closed the lid.
    The next as he was sitting there a group of horrible men came. The began playing ninepino with skulls for balls and thigh-bones for bats. They gave him a skull and a thigh bone. "Wait a minute" now " says he "Until I smoothen the skull" He smoothed it on the cutting-board and started to play and he lost some money. They all went after a while except an old man with a beard so long that it tripped him when he walked. He came up to the boy and said he would kill him. "Not so fast" said the boy "Maybe I am stronger than you", "Come on and you will see" said the old man and he led him into a forge. Then he caught a sledge and he hit a blow on the anvil and split it in two. Then the
