Cistí Óir i bhFolach
There is a castle about two miles from here known as O'Donoghue's Castle.It is situated on the banks of the Doonbeg River in Derrycressane .it is said that King Brian Boru built it,but there is only the ruins of this castle there now.
There is a rock in the centre of the castle where lives a monstrous animal with a great mane.His size was never fully seen but by the noise it makes against the rocks it can easily be imagined.it is said that this animal is minding gold in the Castle.One of Gilbert's cattle died one time,and he told his servant-boy to make a hole near the castle and bury it.The boy did as he was ordered and when he was down some distance he met a crock of gold.
He ran home at once to tell his boss ,but when they went to the place where the boy had been digging ,the gold was removed.
