  1. I.
    Sit down you pretty lassies.
    Before I bid adieu.
A little time in pleasuring time.
I mean to spend with you.
It breaks my heart from you to part.
    But here I cannot stay.
For I must go a roaming.
    Off to America.
    II.
Farewell to friends and parents now.
And the girl that I adore.
Now thinking of my comrade boys.
    Standing on a foreign shore.
And not forgetting my own true-love.
Who was so dear to me.
In the course of time I might roll back.
To the Green Hills of Kilkee.
    III.
In autumn time when all are white.
    All nature seems to blow.
