    To think of parting you,
Farewell to all ye comrade girls,
    Benignant fond and fair ,
For tis often time I roamed with you, Around the Hills of Clare.
2)I now must leave my native land,
    My parents fond and true,
My sister dear with weeping heart
I bid fare well to you
My brothers three though far away
    Are still my only care
But the day will come when four like one
W'ill roam the Hills of Clare.
3)I now must leave my native land
The land that gave me birth,
Where often time i whiled away
Some hours of joy and mirth
Around those true and trusty friends ,
With whom none can compare ,
    Like-wise those ever smiling maids
That decked the Hills of Clare.
So cheer up your hearts ,my comrade boys ,
We yet shall see the day
When you and I our tears will dry
Once more we will be gay
May the heavens ,keep you safe till then ,
