  1. How my District got Its Name
    My district is know by the name Connolly which of course is an English name but its proper name is Fiadhach Ruadh. The following story explains the reason for calling it such.
    It is situated about ten miles west of Ennis. A long time ago there was a deer roaming about my district which is near Mount Callan. Each day he went to the top of the mountain for a drink of water and every night he used to eat the crops in the farmers. One day they held a meeting to find a means of killing the deer. He took the
