  1. There are many different kinds of herbs growing in the woods and gardens. These herbs are cures for certain diseases. Here is a list of the herbs and what they cure.
Nettles. This herb is a cure for pimples, skin-diseases, and consumption. You boil the nettles and, when boiled, squeeze the juice out of them, and drink it. You do the same thing for the other diseases.
Dandeloin. The way that you will get cured of pimples is to send someone out to pick dandeloin for you and when they pick it, to mash it up and boil it in their own homes for you and not to let anyone go near it only the one who got it for you. Tell him to feed you with it and the pimples will go away.
Garlic. This is a cure for bad blood, and yellow jaundice. You boil the garlic and drink the juice of it.
Turnip. This is a cure for a boil. Boil the turnip and eat it.
Dock-leaves. This herb is a cure for a nettle sting. You rub the leaf to the sting, and keep saying "Dock-leaf, bite a nettle," and immediately the sting will be cured.
