    three horses at home. The names we have on them are Fender and Darky. The other one is known as the mare. When driving them we say "go on"
    The house where the horses are kept is called the stable. The bedding for horses is straw. Sometimes old hay is used. The food the horses get is hay and oats. Many people give raw mangels to horses. Long ago the most common food was boiled potatoes and mangels. When hay is scarce oaten straw is given to them instead. The shoes that are put on the horses are made of iron. The hair is clipped off the horses by means of a clipping machine.
    We have different ways for calling the animals and birds. When we are calling the horses we say "peoh peoh". We say "puin, puin" when calling the cows. The asses are called in the same manner as the horses. Súck, Súck we say when calling the calves. We say Deoch Deoch when calling the pigs. The sheep are called by saying Chó, Chó, Chó. When calling the hens we say, Thioc, Thioc, Thioc. Beadaí, Beadaí, Beadaí, we say
