    The witch, by great coaxing let a man look into her magic bottle. He thus describes "I beheld distinctly in the bottle a figure of a man not larger than my finger standing upright with a tall hat dressed in a dark suit and white stockings reaching to his knees. He was just like a little gentleman". Biddy told the man that when a patient was to recover the figure in the bottle stood erect but if the patients were to die it fell on one side. Others who looked into the bottle say that the figure assumed the shape of a lizard with a red crest. Biddy broke the bottle before she died. Her death took place in December 1874.
    Once upon a time two men were coming from a wake. On their way home they had to pass St. Bridget's bush in Iurlough. One of them said he did not care about ghosts or fairly while the other said he was very much afraid and deiced to cross the fields. The other
