Every night about twelve o'clock a horse race started and the people round New Quay were terrified passing this haunted place.
It happened one night that man from Cregg answered the whistle, as every night the fairies used to blow a whistle before they began. Immediately he was taken off his feet and was brought into the fairies.- Collector
