  1. The fields in the townland of Illane are called in order to distinguish one from the other.
    "Moinéar Caol" is so called because the field is long and narrow in shape and it is used as a meadow.
    "Pairc a leassa" is called to the south field.
    "Pairc ha houn" is the river field bacause a river runs near it.
    "Cruc an oirda" is the country field or the cross field.
    There is a field called "Pairc an tig Mór" meaning the field of the big house in which the Comyn family lived.
    It is situated in Kilcorcoran near Miltown Malbay.
