Freigh is taken from Fraoc meaning heather. Freigh is divided into three parts Freigh Falline is called after the cliff which is 40 feet high. Freigh Pounda is so called because there was a pound there long ago. Freigh Castle is called after the old castle.
Ilane means Oileán (an island) is surrounded by rivers. It is separated from Milford by a river, it is also separated from Clonbony by a river.
